Guest Pourer: Katie Bates,
President & CEO, Arlington Chamber of Commerce

Kate Bates serves as President & CEO of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, a membership organization of more than 750 businesses and organizations committed to strengthening businesses and the economic environment for those who live, work, and do business in Arlington. Kate is proud to have Bridges to Independence as a member of the Chamber and supports their vital efforts to strengthen families and provide them with the tools and resources to become self-sufficient.

Guest Pourer: David Kidwell,
Chief Deputy of the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office

Currently the Chief Deputy of the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office, David Kidwell has served as a deputy with the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office for over 30 years. Prior to becoming Chief Deputy, he served as the Director of Corrections for ten (10) years, was the Commander of the Emergency Response Team and a member of the ACSO Honor Guard. He also l served in the United States Marine Corps from 1984 – 1988. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration of Justice from George Mason University and currently lives in Fredericksburg, Virginia with his wife and two children.

Guest Pourer: Jonathan Darling,
CEO, Training Resources Group, Inc. (TRG)

Mr. Darling joined TRG in 1995 and for eleven years served as the firm’s Director of Business Development. In that role he collaborated with clients to identify organizational development and learning needs and develop approaches to improving organizational performance and business results. He has also provided consulting services for such varied clients as the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Department of Commerce, and Major League Baseball. He has worked in the U.S., Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and is fluent in Spanish. He has served as TRG’s CEO since 2007.

Zach Wahl is CEO of Enterprise Knowledge (EK), a global Knowledge and Information Management consultancy serving both the public and private sectors. EK is a philanthropic partner of Bridges and a fervent supporter of education and engagement for today’s youth.

Guest Pourer: Katie Cristol,
Arlington County Board Member

Arlington County Board Member Katie Cristol is a community advocate and public policy professional. She was elected to the Board in November 2015. Katie is the Co-Chair of Arlington’s Project PEACE, an interagency collaboration to address domestic and sexual violence in our community. Ms. Cristol served as Chair of the County Board in 2018.

Executive Director, Goodwin House Alexandria

Barbara D’Agostino is a seasoned healthcare executive and decision-maker with an emphasis on Seniors Housing and Long-Term Care. She was appointed Executive Director of Goodwin House Alexandria (GHA) in 2017, with key functions devoted to providing leadership, direction, management, performance improvements and initiatives, with overall responsibility for strategic vision and future enhancements of GHA. In supporting the goals and objectives of GHA and management team, she is happy spending her days working with the entire staff in keeping GHA an amazing place to reside and provide exceptional care.

Executive Director, Volunteer Arlington 

When Leadership Center for Excellence was awarded the Arlington County contract
to manage Volunteer Arlington, Fikes was hired as its Director in September 2016.
Partnering with over 190 local nonprofit and county organizations, Fikes works
with her team to connect individuals, groups and businesses with local volunteer
opportunities. With a passion for celebrating volunteerism and connecting community members of all ages with opportunities to serve others, Fikes also enjoys her time on the Marymount Service Center Advisory Council, APAH’s Community Progress Network, Inter-Service Club Council and the Arlington Chamber’s Community Action Committee.

Christian Dorsey was elected to the Arlington County Board in 2015 and is serving as Chair in 2019. He has worked for the last 25 years to make Arlington a better place, and that can’t happen without strong families. Christian believes the work Bridges to Independence does is critical to making sure all of our community has the resources and services to thrive in Arlington.
