Meet Jacqueline!
Today, Jacqueline is successfully operating her small business, serving nutritious soul food from her virtual restaurant. She markets her business herself on social media.
Jacqueline*, a single mom of a toddler, came to our Employment services manager seeking a livable wage job so she could provide for herself and her daughter. Our Employment Services manager identified two online trainings and a virtual career workshop for Jacqueline. She completed both trainings, and through the virtual career workshop, she discovered she wants to own her own culinary business. Working with our Employment Services manager, they identified a 9-week program, the small business incubator with La Cocina, where she learned the basics to starting a culinary business, the laws in Arlington for home-based businesses, and completed a ServSafe certification in Food Management. Today, Jacqueline is successfully operating her small business, serving nutritious soul food from her virtual restaurant. She markets her business herself on social media.
