Caryn Saunders, a South Arlington native, is a dedicated educator with nearly 20 years of
experience in the field of education. She is deeply committed to fostering an engaging,
supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all children. Throughout her career, she has
taken on a variety of roles, from elementary school teacher to math specialist and instructional
coach. In Caryn’s role as a math instructional coach for the past ten years, she’s worked closely
with the district, local school administration and staff to address key challenges such as
academic performance, effects of disrupted learning, closing opportunity gaps, and overall
student well-being. She is a strong advocate of empowering students and teachers to engage in
critical thinking, problem-solving, meaningful collaboration and reflective practices. Her passion
for children and fervent commitment to student success have driven her to pursue educational
leadership as an aspiring school administrator in the next few years.
